Master Plan Design Manager
Job Summary
The Master Plan Design Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating the master planning design process across the project portfolio. The role ensures that all master plan deliverables align with the project vision, development objectives, design standards, and applicable regulations. The position leads the coordination of external design consultants and internal stakeholders throughout all design stages to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality and integrated master plans.
Key Responsibilities
1. Master Planning Design Management
Manage the development and delivery of master planning design packages throughout all project stages.
Ensure that master plans align with the project vision, development objectives, and company design standards.
Oversee the design process from concept design through detailed master planning stages.
Review and monitor design progress against approved schedules and project milestones.
2. Consultant Management
Manage and coordinate master planning consultants and design firms.
Review consultant deliverables to ensure compliance with project requirements and company standards.
Monitor consultant performance, deliverables, schedules, and quality.
Conduct regular coordination meetings and provide technical feedback.
3. Design Coordination
Coordinate master planning activities with architecture, landscape, infrastructure, and MEP disciplines.
Ensure proper integration between various design disciplines throughout the design process.
Facilitate coordination between internal departments and external consultants.
Resolve design conflicts and coordination issues.
4. Design Review & Quality Control
Review master plan submissions, reports, drawings, and technical documents.
Ensure that all designs comply with company standards, project requirements, and applicable regulations.
Identify design risks and propose appropriate solutions.
Maintain high standards of design quality and consistency.
5. Regulatory Compliance
Ensure compliance with local regulations, zoning requirements, and authority guidelines.
Support the preparation and submission of documents required for approvals.
Coordinate with relevant authorities and stakeholders during the approval process.
6. Project Support
Support development and project management teams during design decision-making.
Provide technical recommendations regarding master planning issues.
Participate in design presentations and management reviews.
Assist during design changes and project development phases.
7. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of design reviews, comments, approvals, and consultant submissions.
Prepare regular design status reports and progress updates.
Track design actions and ensure timely closure of outstanding issues.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Urban Design, Urban Planning, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 10–12 years of experience in master planning and design management.
Previous experience within real estate developers or design consultancy firms is preferred.
Strong experience managing design consultants and multidisciplinary coordination.
Technical Skills
Strong understanding of master planning principles and design management processes.
Knowledge of local regulations and approval requirements.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and related design software.
