AP Senior Accountant
Key Responsibilities
Review and process supplier invoices, debit/credit notes, and supporting documents, ensuring proper matching with POs, GRNs, contracts, and approvals.
Perform 3-way matching and resolve discrepancies between invoices, POs, and receipts.
Ensure accurate AP accounting, classification, and posting in the ERP system.
Maintain and reconcile vendor accounts, supplier statements, AP sub-ledger, and General Ledger balances.
Monitor AP aging and follow up on overdue, disputed, and outstanding invoices.
Prepare payment proposals and ensure timely processing of approved supplier payments in line with payment terms and company policies.
Coordinate with Procurement, Finance, Treasury, Operations, and suppliers to resolve invoice and payment issues.
Review and reconcile employee and supplier advances, ensuring proper settlement and documentation.
Ensure accurate accounting treatment of VAT, withholding tax, and other applicable taxes and support related tax reporting.
Perform monthly AP closing activities, including accruals, provisions, reclassifications, GR/IR reconciliations, and other required reconciliations.
Prepare AP schedules and supporting documents for financial reporting and internal/external audits.
Ensure compliance with IFRS, Egyptian accounting and tax requirements, company policies, and internal controls.
Maintain accurate AP records and ensure proper filing and retention of supporting documentation.
Review vendor master data changes and ensure compliance with established approval and control procedures.
Identify opportunities to improve AP processes, efficiency, automation, and reduce manual transactions.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, with strong exposure to Accounts Payable processes.
Experience in large organizations or multinational companies is preferred.
Good knowledge of accounting principles, AP processes, and financial reporting.
Good understanding of VAT, withholding tax, and applicable tax regulations.
Experience using ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar systems.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
